Assalamualaikum everyone! It's been a while since my last post in here. Decided to share some of my recent interview via my blog post. Hopefully it will be beneficial for everyone who came across my blog. Happy Reading!
Two weeks before the interview, I received a text message from SPP to check on my application status.

Upon checking, I was very shocked to know that I am selected for an interview at Putrajaya for the position of English Teacher at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, Pengambilan Siri ke-6 2022. Alhamdulillah syukur!!! 💓

This is going to be my first time of attending interview under the government sector. So I was not sure of the dress code, the protocol and why types of questions that I should expect from the panel. I then reached out to my friends and alhamdulillah they shared me a slide that I should read to equipped myself better for the interview. Here is the link for the slide : Temuduga SPP - Guru Bahasa Inggeris
Dress code for woman :
- Plain baju kurung, plain headscarf and wear it neatly
- Nametag
- Heels need to be in black colour, not too high not to flat and the tip of the heels need to be round not pointy

Also, when I go through youtube they encouraged us to keep all of the photostate documents in a black file and we are also encouraged to print out our picture and label our black file.

But it turns out, it is not necessary. Prior entering the interview room, they will ask us to take out all of the copied documents and only hand in the copy without the file to them. So yes, we can skip the filling. Remember to keep your hard copy in another file as the panel will go through the hard copy!
The interview took around 1 hour. Mine started at 8 AM and finished by 9 AM. We entered the interview room in a group. There were 7 candidates including myself, and two panels. It is optional to take off the mask since they will need to identify whether or not we are the right person who came up for the interview.
Both of them looks friendly, and Alhamdulillah I instantly became very comfortable to talk with them. My tips are, you need to remain calm while answering the question given. Do not rush to answer, instead take your own sweet time to think and construct your sentences in your head before answering.
One of the candidates was crying because she was too nervous, and she could not utter any words. Thankfully, the panel was very kind. She kept on giving another chance to the candidate by asking a very simple question. Her question was "if you need to teach speaking skill in class, what are the topics you are going to choose?" Another one candidate speaks with a very shaky voice, but she still tries her best to let her opinion out. I admire her courage on that.
Alhamdulillah, I could say that both of the panels were asking simple questions. I will list down the questions below:
1. Introduce yourself
2. If you are being appointed for this position, pick someone that you will choose to be your mentor
-I chose Ketua Panitia Bahasa Inggeris
3. What are the differences between a mentor and a coach?
- You can relate with football team. Your coach is the one who planned for the tactical while mentor could be your teammates
4. What is CEFR?
5. Based on CEFR, what are the most important skills?
- I chose speaking
6. How do you plan to teach speaking in class?
- I chose role play
7. What are the qualities that you have for this position?
- I answered, passion and patience to teach.
The session was conducted fully in English. We shall expect the result by January, or February next year.
Semoga ada rezeki and good luck future teachers, Inshaallah.
Till next time!
Love,
Fxhdx
